These are some of the flowers I grew in 2023. I always put in a different type of flowers in my Whiskey Barrels. This year was a wild flower mix with zinneas and some foliage types.
The red dahlia grew up this year by itself. I planted some dahlia seeds last year but none of them came up. This Spring this lone dahlia came up. I was surprised it survived the winter.
My old trusty Rose of Sharon keeps going strong. I didn’t plant these. They were already there when I bought my house in 1999. You have to be careful about trimming them. You cut these in the Fall and if you cut off two much, they won’t bloom the next Summer. I learned this the hard way.
